1. What this policy covers
This policy explains how Viewertech uses cookies and similar technologies on viewertech.net, erp.viewertech.net and associated Viewertech web services.
It should be read with the Viewertech Privacy Policy.

2. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files stored on a device when a website is used.
Similar technologies may include:
- local storage;
- session storage;
- pixels;
- tags;
- scripts;
- device or browser identifiers.
These technologies can support authentication, security, preferences, checkout, analytics and communications.
3. Our approach
Viewertech uses strictly necessary technologies where required to provide a service requested by the user or to protect the website.
Non-essential analytics, preference or marketing technologies are used only where:
- they are actually configured;
- the user is given clear information;
- consent or another applicable legal basis is obtained.
Rejecting non-essential cookies will not prevent basic access, but some optional functions may be limited.
4. Strictly necessary cookies
Strictly necessary cookies may be used for:
- login and authenticated sessions;
- security and fraud prevention;
- cross-site request forgery protection;
- shopping cart and checkout state;
- load balancing and service continuity;
- remembering cookie choices;
- protecting forms and APIs;
- completing a user-requested payment flow.
These technologies cannot normally be disabled through the Viewertech preference tool because the requested service may not work without them.
They can still be blocked through browser settings, but doing so may prevent login, checkout or portal use.
5. Preference cookies
Preference cookies may remember choices such as:
- region;
- currency;
- language;
- display preferences;
- consent selections.
Where they are not strictly necessary, Viewertech will use them only with the required consent.
6. Analytics and performance cookies
Analytics technologies may help Viewertech understand:
- page use;
- errors;
- performance;
- navigation;
- service demand;
- device and browser types.
Where consent is legally required, analytics will remain disabled until consent is given.
Viewertech will not describe analytics as anonymous where identifiers or linkable data are processed.
7. Marketing cookies
Viewertech may use marketing or advertising technologies only where they are expressly enabled and lawful consent has been obtained.
Marketing technologies may support:
- measuring campaigns;
- limiting repeated advertising;
- understanding referrals;
- displaying relevant promotions.
Viewertech does not require marketing cookies for account, domain, hosting or support services.
8. Payment-provider technologies
When you choose Stripe Checkout or another payment service, the payment provider may use its own cookies and similar technologies for:
- payment processing;
- authentication;
- security;
- fraud prevention;
- regulatory compliance.
Those technologies are governed by the provider's privacy and cookie information. Some may be necessary to complete the requested payment.
9. Authentication and portal technologies
Viewertech's ERPNext/Frappe customer portal may use session and security cookies to:
- keep you signed in;
- associate actions with the correct account;
- protect against unauthorised requests;
- enforce customer permissions;
- manage session expiry.
Logging out or closing the browser may end some session cookies.
10. Cookie duration
Cookies may be:
- session cookies, which expire when the browser session ends; or
- persistent cookies, which remain for a stated period or until deleted.
Viewertech aims to keep duration proportionate to purpose.
Typical duration categories are:
| Category | Typical duration |
|---|---|
| Authentication and security | Session or limited security period |
| Cart and checkout | Session or short order-completion period |
| Consent preferences | Up to 12 months |
| User preferences | Up to 12 months |
| Analytics, where enabled and consented | According to the active consent panel and provider configuration |
| Marketing, where enabled and consented | According to the active consent panel and provider configuration |
The live cookie preference interface, where deployed, should identify the current provider, purpose and duration of non-essential technologies.
11. Managing consent
Where Viewertech presents a cookie banner or preference centre, you can:
- accept selected categories;
- reject non-essential categories;
- change preferences;
- withdraw consent.
Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of earlier consent-based use.
Viewertech should make rejection as straightforward as acceptance.
12. Browser controls
Most browsers allow you to:
- view cookies;
- delete cookies;
- block cookies;
- block third-party cookies;
- clear site data;
- restrict tracking.
Browser controls may affect website operation.
13. Do Not Track and similar signals
Browser privacy signals are not implemented consistently across all services.
Where Viewertech supports a recognised consent or opt-out signal, it will be described in the preference interface.
14. Third-party content
Embedded third-party content may set cookies or access device information.
Viewertech will avoid loading non-essential embedded content before required consent where technically feasible.
Third-party use is also governed by that provider's policies.
15. Changes
Viewertech may update this policy when technologies, providers or law change.
The current version and effective date will be published online.
