6. Payment processing
Viewertech uses Stripe for card and supported electronic payments. When you are redirected to or interact with Stripe Checkout, Stripe processes payment and fraud-prevention information under its own privacy notice and legal obligations.
Viewertech receives enough information to:
- confirm whether payment succeeded;
- reconcile the payment to the correct order and customer;
- create accounting and domain-order records;
- detect duplicate or suspicious events;
- respond to refunds, disputes and chargebacks.
A successful payment does not necessarily mean a domain has been registered or a hosting service has been provisioned. Fulfilment status is shown separately.
7. Domain registration and registration-data disclosure
Viewertech acts as a reseller or intermediary for domain services. Domain registration requires disclosure of information to third-party registrars and registries. Those parties may independently determine how registration data is processed.
You must provide accurate registration information and keep it current. If a registrar or registry requests verification, Viewertech may contact you and may suspend fulfilment until the required information is supplied.
Where registration privacy or proxy services are available, their use is subject to the relevant registrar and registry rules. Privacy services do not prevent disclosure where required by law, court order, registrar policy, dispute proceedings or security investigation.
8. Sharing personal information
We may share relevant information with:
- Stripe and payment-service providers;
- domain registrars, registry operators and ICANN-related service providers;
- hosting, infrastructure, backup, email and security providers;
- accounting, tax, audit, legal and insurance advisers;
- customer-authorised users and contacts;
- fraud-prevention, abuse-response and cybersecurity providers;
- public authorities, courts, regulators or law-enforcement bodies where legally required;
- a purchaser, investor or successor in connection with a genuine business restructuring, subject to confidentiality and legal safeguards.
We disclose only information reasonably necessary for the relevant purpose. Viewertech does not sell personal information for money.
9. International processing
Viewertech operates from Namibia and may support customers or services from the United Kingdom and other locations. Our providers, registrars, registries and infrastructure partners may process information in other countries.
Where data protection law requires safeguards for an international transfer, Viewertech will use an applicable transfer mechanism, contractual protection, risk assessment or another legally recognised safeguard. Some domain-registration transfers are necessary to perform the registration contract or comply with registry rules.
10. Retention
We retain information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose collected, including legal, accounting, security and dispute requirements.
Our usual retention approach is:
| Record type | Usual retention |
|---|---|
| Customer, order, invoice and payment records | Contract period and normally 6 years afterwards |
| Domain registration and registrar audit records | Active registration period and normally 6 years after expiry, transfer or closure |
| Hosting service and provisioning records | Service period and normally 6 years afterwards |
| Support tickets and operational communications | Normally 3 years after closure, or longer if linked to a dispute or contract |
| Security and access logs | Usually up to 12 months, unless required for an incident or legal claim |
| Marketing preferences | Until withdrawal, plus a limited suppression record |
| Failed or abandoned checkout records | Only as long as needed for reconciliation, security and accounting controls |
| Backups | Rotated according to the applicable backup schedule and securely overwritten in due course |
We may retain information longer where required by law, a legal hold, a dispute, fraud prevention, registrar or registry obligations, or the protection of legal rights.
11. Security
Viewertech uses technical and organisational safeguards designed to protect personal information, including:
- access controls and role separation;
- encrypted network connections;
- password hashing and authentication controls;
- restricted administrative access;
- audit and reconciliation records;
- server, application and security monitoring;
- backup and recovery controls;
- change and deployment controls;
- payment processing through Stripe rather than local storage of full card details;
- restricted registrar and provisioning automation.
No internet service is completely secure. You must protect your credentials, use strong unique passwords, enable available multi-factor authentication and promptly report suspected compromise.
12. Your rights
Your rights depend on the law that applies to your relationship with Viewertech. They may include the right to:
- be informed about processing;
- request access to personal information;
- correct inaccurate or incomplete information;
- request deletion where there is no overriding reason to retain the information;
- restrict processing;
- object to certain processing;
- receive certain information in a portable format;
- withdraw consent;
- object to direct marketing;
- complain to a competent regulator or court.
Where UK data protection law applies, you may also complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office.
To exercise a right, email info@viewertech.net with the subject Privacy Request. We may ask for reasonable information to verify your identity and authority. Some rights are limited by legal, security, accounting, registrar, registry or contractual obligations.
13. Marketing
Viewertech may send marketing only where permitted by applicable law. You can unsubscribe using the link in the message or by contacting us.
Service messages concerning security, invoices, payment status, domains, renewals, outages, policy changes or support are not marketing and may still be sent while your account or service remains active.
14. Cookies and similar technologies
Viewertech uses essential technologies for authentication, security, sessions, cart and checkout operation, consent preferences and service delivery. Non-essential analytics or marketing technologies will be used only where an applicable legal basis and required consent are in place.
See the Viewertech Cookie Policy for details and controls.
15. Automated controls
Viewertech uses automated checks for matters such as:
- price and currency validation;
- duplicate-payment prevention;
- registrar cost and margin verification;
- domain availability;
- fraud and security signals;
- access permissions.
These controls may block or delay an order where information is inconsistent or risky. Viewertech does not intentionally rely on solely automated decision-making that produces legal or similarly significant effects without an available review process. Contact support if you believe an automated control has incorrectly affected you.
16. Children
Viewertech services are intended for customers aged 18 or over and for authorised business users. We do not knowingly offer customer accounts to children. If you believe a child has supplied personal information without proper authority, contact us.
17. Third-party links and services
Viewertech websites may link to third-party services. Their privacy practices are governed by their own notices. Viewertech is not responsible for third-party privacy practices outside its control.
18. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy to reflect legal, technical or business changes. The current version and effective date will be published on Viewertech's website. Material changes may also be communicated through the customer portal or email.
